new adventures in vancouver

While in Vancouver you babies had a lot of Firsts. Grandma Kanooth was all about going to the store and buying you new toys, food, clothes, ext. While at Grandma's you both got your first rattles and other play toys. You loved holding onto the toys or anything for that matter. Savannah you now have to be holding onto something when you eat. Most the time I let you hold my fingers, but you won't drink unless your hands are full.
Grandma also loved feeding the two of you while in Vancouver. Whenever Savannah would cry or Micah would suck on his fist.... Grandma stuck a bottle in your mouths. She loved feeding you both, it was her way of saying that she loves you. Micah loved drinking, and would gulp down any bottle Grandma gave you.
Grandma also bought you both rice-cereal. It was an adventure trying to get you both to drink it. Savannah did pretty well, but got frustrated when the food didn't go down fast enough. Micah cried most the time because he couldn't figure out how to use the spoon. Therefore most of Micah's cereal came back onto the bib. And Savannah's food was on her face. After 2 weeks of intense training you both figured out how to eat from a spoon, and now feeding time is a lot easier.
Another fun thing for Grandma was giving you both a FULL bath; she drenched you!!! But for some reason, you both never cried. Grandma went out and bought a baby bath just for the two of you. Every other day you were given a bath by Grandma. She then lotioned you up and put baby powder all over your bodies. She loved doing this, again it was her way of saying she loved you.

Playing with Daddy in Vancouver

All of August, September, and October were busy months for the two of you. But these 3 months were without your Daddy. Having Daddy fly to Vancouver and spend 4 days with us was such a nice treat for your mother. I was ready to have your father back, and I know he was very excited to see his little twins. Daddy held the both of you every chance he got. For the 4 days he was in Vancouver, I never saw your Daddy not holding one of you. He loved making Micah laugh and playing airplane with Savannah.

Your Daddy loves you both so much. He is such a good Daddy. He loves you.

Your Blessing Day

October 31 is the day you were both blessed. It was such a beautiful day. Your father gave you both wonderful and individual blessings. The spirit was strong and was with your Daddy during the blessings. You were so quite and peaceful as the priesthood holders laid their hands under you both. Neither of you cried or made a sound during the blessings. Tears came to your mother's eyes as Leif blessed you with words of power.

You were both blessed to live righteous lives so you can enter into the temple with a spouse for time and all eternity. Micah, you were blessed to be a strong, spiritual leader, one who can take his place in leadership rolls. You were blessed to be spirally minded all your days.

Savannah, you were blessed to have a strong personality. You were blessed to be a positive influence on others around you. You will be a beacon of light to those you meet. Your influence on others will change lives. You were also blessed to be a wonderful mother in Zion.

Seeing your Daddy Again

October 30th your Daddy flew into Vancouver. The last time you and I had seen him was in August and you were both 6 pounds then. Three months was a long time and I was so excited to see Leif. I was even more excited for him to see the both of you. It took me a long time to decide on a outfit for you, and I gave you both a bath so you would smell really good. Aunt Lairen and myself tried to keep you both awake for when Daddy came in the door. But you both fell dead asleep 30 minutes before his arrival. I ran out to the car to meet him first. We hugged, kissed, and then he asked where his babies were.

You were both sleeping, but Daddy held you anyways. Micah stayed sound asleep and Leif kept commenting on how big, handsome, and perfect you were. But Savannah woke up when Daddy held you. You looked at Daddy and then your bottom lip started to quiver. All of the sudden you let out a huge cry. Daddy didn't know what to do, so he passed you back to me. But you kept crying and continued crying for almost 30 minutes. Aunt Larien then rocked you back to sleep.

The next morning around 6:30 Savannah woke up. You are always really happy in the mornings, so I placed you on Daddy's lap. You were all smiles and laughs while laying in your Daddy's arms. You both played together and Daddy loved it. Micah woke up a little later. We were all together as a family on more time. We love our little family.

Party

On Friday teh 29th you both put on your Halloween customs and went to your first Trunk-Or-Treat ever. Micah was a pumpkin. Savannah was a flower. Mommy and Aunt Becky were matching witches. All of your cousins came dressed up in awesome customs as well. There was a custom contest and dinner. You both should have won, but you were to busy drinking milk that I never entered you. Then by the time everyone went Trunk-Or-Treating, you were both asleep.
Yet, I really wanted candy so I grabbed Savannah, a bag, and visited a couple of cars. Savannah, you really liked trunk-or-treating. And everyone loved your cute little outfit.

Your First Sleep Over

Your cousins Ally & Kaitlyn really wanted to spend extra time with both of you. So they invited you over to spend the night (I got to go too). Aunt Andrea came and picked us up on Wednesday morning. She wanted you both to be there before Ally got home from school.
So we took you both in the stroller and waited at Ally's bus stop. Cousin Ally ran off the bus and over the stroller yelling, "My new cousins." Ally really liked Micah and wanted to hold you every minute. Little Kaitlyn was connected to Savannah and wanted to hold you every minute. They became attached to you both, and by the end of the trip Ally was saying "My Micah", and Kaitlyn was saying, "My Savannah".
Your cousins changed all your diapers, feed you bottles, burped you and held you. You both enjoyed your first sleep over ever. In fact you both slept really well in Jeremy's taxidermy room. And you both had a fun, fun time.

Meeting your Great-Grandma and Grandpa

You both got into Vancouver on Monday and had a great day playing with your Kanooth Grandparents along with Aunt Lairen. You were both cuddled and held throughout the day. Then on Tuesday morning Grandma Kanooth, Mommy, and you both went to meet your Great-Grandma Martin. She is in a nursing home but is as strong as ever. Great-Grandma Martin loves your father a lot and brags about him daily. But today all she did was brag about the two of you.

As we entered her room she started to cry and said, "My little twins are here." Her face light up at the sight of you both, and you could tell that she was so excited to meet you. First Great-Grandma held Micah and talked about how much he looked like her little Leif.
Then she held Savannah. Savannah, you normally cry when you are layed down in a sideways position. But today you let Great-Grandma hold you that way without crying. In fact you looked up and smiled at Great-Grandma most of the time. Grandma Martin kept saying that she prayed for you both every night. Tears continued to fall from her eyes every time she talked about her prayers. She kissed you both over and over, and loved you. It was a very nice visit.

On Friday (Oct. 29th) you both meet a lot of new relatives including the Brooks family, Aaron & Katie's family and Great-Grandpa Kanooth. Grandpa Kanoooth lives out in Ridgefield all by himself, in the home that Grandpa Kanooth grew up in. He was surprised by our visit and loved every minute. In fact he kept saying, "It is so good to see everyone!" We put Micah in one arm and took some generation pictures, then Savannah was placed in the other arm. Great-Grandpa was surprised at first but then relaxed and enjoyed the pleasure of holding both you sweet babies.

Train Ride

On Monday morning (Oct 25th) at 2:45 a.m. you both boarded the train for your first time ever!! You were both sleeping when the train left, and slept until 6:00 a.m. Savannah was the first to wake up and Mommy feed her breakfast. Savannah and Mommy then looked out the window until Micah woke up at 7:00 and wanted breakfast too. I then held you both on my lap and we all looked out the window together. Savannah loved it. Your little eyes were so big as you looked at the new scenery.

Then about 9:00 a.m. our train stopped in Vancouver, Washington where Grandma Kanooth came to meet us. She was so excited to see how big the 2 of you had gotten. And you were both excited to see your Kanooth Grandparents as well.

Leaving Grandma & Grandpa Maughan's

6 weeks in Spokane went by a lot faster then expected. You both had so much fun playing with Grandma and Grandpa Maughan. You both also enjoyed meeting your Aunts and Uncles (the only on that hasn't meet you is Aunt Kjersti). And every relative had a lot of fun playing with the both of you. I thought that 6 weeks in Spokane was going to be long, but it was a blast. Your mother had so much fun introducing you both to old friends, and playing with relatives. I really enjoyed the help from both Grandma and Grandpa Maughan. And they both enjoyed getting to know their two twin grand babies.

Grandpa Maughan claimed that he taught you both how to smile and how to gain weight. Grandma Maughan claimed that you both learned how to laugh from her. I let them both think what they wanted... but deep down I know you learned everything from your mother!!

Grandpa loved holding the both of you when he played on the computer. Grandma would talk to you and tickle your bellies. At night time both Grandma and Grandpa would help me get you ready for bed. Grandpa Maughan normally gave you both a bath while Grandma and I put on your PJ's, feed you, and read you a story.

Your last day there was Sunday October 25th. We all went to church and then Grandma cooked us a really nice meal. For the rest of the day neither of you were put down as Grandma & Grandpa realized that you would be leaving. Your Grand partens love you both so much. They let you know that through words and actions. It was sad to say good-buy and leave.

carving you first pumkin

You both carved your first pumpkin today. Grandma picked the pumpkin out when we were at Green Bluff. Then everyone took a turn at carving and creating the outcome. You both were in charge of digging out the insides. Savannah scraped and Micah dug. It was a great team effort!!! And the pumpkin looked amazing.

Your Aunt Amy flew in all the way from Utah just to see you both. Aunt Amy is a kindergarden teacher in Utah. She teaches at a Charter School and therefore has a Fall Break. So she was here for 5 days. Aunt Amy loved playing with the both of you. She would hold you both and cuddle. Amy loved balancing Savannah in her hand and tickling Micah. It was a wonderful time.
