You both flew home from Spokane on Christmas Day. And this time you were a lot better. Because both of you slept on the plane... but your parents didn't sleep. So the next day was Sunday, and we normally all take Sunday naps. But, Sunday the 26th Mom and Dad kept you up for church so we could ALL take a nap together when we got home.
Right after church Mommy fed Savannah and put her to bed. She fell asleep.
Mommy then fed Micah and put him to bed. He fell asleep.
Daddy and Mommy then went to bed. We almost fell asleep, but Savannah started to cry. We let Savannah cry for 25 minutes but her cry just kept getting louder and louder. Savannah, I knew you couldn't be hungry so I went in and checked on you. As soon as I looked over the crib your eyes got big and you started kicking your legs. So I put you in bed with Mom and Dad. And all you did was blow bubbles with your lips the WHOLE time. You kicked your arms and legs and made funny nosies with your lips. You did this for 45 minutes.... and neither Daddy nor Mommy slept.
What I learned... it is impossible for 4 people all to nap at the same time.

Christmas 2010
With Aunt Josett's weddings and all the family being in town, Christmas break was a lot of fun. Grandma and Grandpa loved holding the both of you. Aunt Daryn also loved to hold you both and make sure you were never left alone. But who adored you most was your cousin Lucy and cousin Ruby. Both of your cousins loved to bounce you in your rocker and dress you up. I think they thought that you were live dolls. They were really cute with you.

Then on Christmas eve you both had major parts in the family nativity. Micah you were baby Jesus. And you were a perfect baby Jesus. You were asleep already in bed when we started the Nativity so I woke you up, wrapped you in swaddling clothes, and laid you in the manger. Aunt Josett was Mary and you just feel right asleep in her arms. Savannah, you were a sheep. And did did a great job. Your father was a Shepard so you just laid in his arms and walked with him to the manger. You were going to be the angel (because you are so sweet), but you don't talk yet.
On Christmas Day everyone got up at 5:30 a.m to talk with Aunt Kjersti on the phone (she is on a mission in Brazil). Savannah you got up with us too! Everyone then went back to bed (because Sanata hadn't come yet). By 9:00 a.m. the house was still quite and no one had re-awaken. Daddy and I knew we were going to be leaving in the afternoon and Christmas had to get going so..... We dressed you both up in your elf outfits and put you to work waking up the household. You both looked so cute in your stripped red and white pants, your red shirt that said "Baby's first Christmas", your white socks, your stripped hats, and you cute little smiles. Mommy took you into every one's room, placed you on their tummy, and said, "It's Christmas.. wake up!!" By the time everyone was dressed and awake, you were both known as the Christmas Elves.

A trip to Aunt Josestt's Wedding
On December 16th our little family headed off to Spokane to witness Aunt Josett and Uncle Scott get married. You both had a lot of fun seeing family again and being at the wedding. On Friday you both set up the gym for the reception and then were babysat while Mom and Dad went to the temple. This was the first time you were babysat by someone other then family. And you did great! The baby sitter said you both were perfect angels. Thanks for being so good!!
Then on Saturday you were babysat by Mommy's cousins as Aunt Josett and Uncle Scott were married in the Spokane Temple. It was a beautiful white wedding. Aunt Josett was smiling ear to ear the whole time. We went into the temple while the sun was still shining. As we excited the temple snow was falling and it became a beautiful white wedding.
Both of you looked so cute during the lunch-in and reception. You were both passed around most the night as everyone wanted to hold "the twins". But in the end, Savannah danced with Daddy most the night and Micah danced with Mommy. It was a wonderful wedding.

Playing with the Parents
Santa
You are both getting really excited for Christmas. And you have visited Santa 2 different times. The first time was down at "Christmas on the River". Savannah really liked Santa. She opened her big eyes and wouldn't take her eyes off of him. Micah asked Santa for Milk. And Savannah asked for a Milkshake!!!!
The second time we visited Santa was at the Library. Santa came and sang songs with the kids and then he let everyone come and visit with him. This time Micah loved Santa. He implanted his hands in Santa beard and wouldn't let go. Savannah again wouldn't take her big eyes off of him. This time Micah asked for rice cereal. And Savannah asked for oatmeal!!!!

Day Care at the YMCA
Mommy has FINALLY stated to work-out again. The YMCA has a child watch and I took you both for your first time on Monday (Dec 6, 2010). While I worked out.... Savannah slept the whole time and Micah smiled, played, and talked to the babysitters. Everyone at the daycare were talking about what good babies you were. Then on Tuesday I tried again. This time I did a Yago class. During the middle of the class the overhead speaker goes on and says, "Will Rachel Kanooth please come to child watch." I ran down the stairs thinking something horrible had happened. What I found was Micah happily swinging in a chair and Savannah screaming at the top of her lungs. I took Savannah from the sitter and she stopped crying!!! (Little Mommy's girl)
The very next day I decided to try daycare again. And the exact same thing happened. "Will Rachel Kanooth please come to child watch." Micah was sitting happily on someones lap and Savannah was as red as an apple. The babysitter said Savannah had been crying for 30 minutes straight. But she stopped as soon as I held her!! (Little monster.)
I can't believe I was brave enough to go back... but I really need to work out. So the following day I went at 5:00 at night, thinking it might make a difference. No! Savannah thinks that she has to cry each time Mommy wants to work out. And she thinks she needs to cry for an extended amount of time. (Silly girl)

first fight
December 7, 2010 you both got into your first fight. You are both only 1/2 year old and you have already started to fight!! Well, I needed to cook dinner. So I turned on your signing movie, put you both on the couch, gave you both a toy, and told you both to be good. 10 minutes later I hear Micah crying loud... and Micah never cries loud (he just whimpers). My first thought was that Micah feel off the couch. I run into the front room only to find Savannah holding one toy in each hand. Savannah, you took Micah's toys and wouldn't give it back.
So Mommy gave Micah back his toy and he was happy again. I told Micah that Savannah would probably do something like this again. And I told Savannah to be good.

church sites
Both of you have never visited any church sites here in Kansas City and either had Aunt Josett. So, Sunday after church we became tourist and went to both Liberty Jail and Independence. You both love Jesus and the spirit. So you had a lot of fun at both sites. Independence Visitor Center was both of your favorite site. You both loved walking in and seeing the statue of Christ with his arms outstretched. Micah loved looking at Christ. He wouldn't take his eyes off of the statue. We all had a great last day with Aunt Josett.

Thanksgiving
This was your first Thanksgiving and it was spent with Aunt Josett and soon-to-be Uncle Scott. Scott's mother and step-father live in Lenexa so we went down there for the weekend. You both loved it because there were a lot of people to play with you. Again you were never put down and constantly played with. Scott and Josett loved holding you both. And you both liked it too.
Savannah didn't take a nap the whole Thanksgiving day. You were so tired and you kept rubbing your eyes, but you never took a nap. The 2 times I laid you down for a nap, you cried for 20 minutes!! So I thought that you would just end up sleeping most the night. Well, I was wrong! Every time I went to put you down for the night, you cried and cried. So Mommy ended up sleeping on the couch with you in the standing up position. I think together we both might have slept 4 hours. Savannah, you are just the biggest social bug. You have to SEE what is going on and you always have to be apart of the action. One of Scott's step-sisters just loved you. Her name was Courtney and she held you most the day. You would look for her if she put you down and you laughed with her most the night.
Micah you were the sweetest boy all of Thanksgiving week. You let anyone hold you and you smiled most the day. Scott has an adopted Grandma who has raised kids her whole life. And his Grandma loved you. You had a special connection to her too. On Thanksgiving night, all of us were down watching a movie and you were up in Grandma's room. She had you on the bed and she was talking to you. You were kicking, and talking back. Grandma then told me that the both of you had a wonderful conversation. You told grandma that you really wanted a twin brother, but you are OK with having a twin sister. You are going to help take care of Savannah but you know she will pick on you. Grandma also said that you told her you like to paint-ball and play soccer. I really do think the two of you had a little conversation. All I know is you made her day!!

Helpers
So we are finally getting back into a routine!!! Savannah is now taking 3 naps a day and Micah is taking 3-5 short naps a day. But for the most part you do it at the same time. You both eat solid food twice a day and Micah is starting to like it more. Mommy does chores during the day. I use to just have you both watch me, but now you want to help. Micah will watch me fold laundry and then he gets a ride in the basket. Savannah will help me do dishes, by grabbing onto everything. In the end, the chores get done. It just might take a little longer then normal.

Back home in Kansas City
One of the first things I have tried to do upon returning to Kansas City, was put you both on a schedule. But neither of you wanted to do that. You have both had so much fun on vacation and you both have been held constintly for the last 6 months. It is so hard to make you realize that it is back to just you and mommy. I would hear one of you cry and realize that Grandma wasn't here to help anymore. I was not use to changing 2 diaper, feeding 2 mouths, washing 2 bodies, and rocking 2 babies.
So here are the reasons why I can't get you both on the same schedule. Micah takes cat-naps throughout the day and Savannah will take two LONG naps one in the morning and one in the afternoon (3 hours long). Savannah loves solid food and Micah gets frustrated when he sees a spoon. Savannah wants to drink every 3 hours and Micah could eat every 30 minutes if I let you. You are both NEVER asleep at the same time!! So Mommy never get to take a nap during the day! But then I do enjoy my one-on-one time with each of you.
All-in-all it is nice being back in Kansas City and being together as a family. My most favorite time of the day is when Daddy comes home from work. He normally comes home between 5-7 o'clock and is ready to paly with both of you. We eat dinner together, play with you both and then it's bedtime. Leif will always help me bath you, change you, feed and then put you both down for bed. This is my favorite part of the day and I think it is yours tool.
