Your Daddy's hours seem to be getting longer at the hospital. And it feels like he is working more days in a roll. I love it when he gets a day off, but he is normally so tired and wants to rest or take it easy. He leaves before you both wake up and comes home when you are already in bed. He therefore doesn't get to see eithor of you until he has a day off (or you wake up at night). When Daddy comes home I tell him all about our day. But talking isn't the same as seeing, so I have been taking video for Daddy to see.
I have been staying home with you both and enjoy it most of the time. Micah & Savannah you both give me so much joy. I love your smiles, laughs, cuddles and hugs. I am thankful for the opportunity to stay home and teach you, but do fine it challenging. I am not going to lie, it is hard work picking up after you, feeding you, changing you, and making sure you don't hurt eachother. I get board a lot of the times. But it is times like these videos that I smile and love my job. Enjoy watching!
I love my dancing babies.

No more Helmet
July 17th, 2011 was a special day for Micah. It was the day you got your helmet off. Your head has improved from having a 18 mm difference to a 4 mm difference. The doctor in Kansas City said to keep it on until us parents are comfortable with how your head looks. And your Daddy and I think you look handsome. You looked so cute with your helmet on, but you look even better with if off.
Helmet on
Helmet off
If took you a couple of days to get use to the helmet being off. You continue you hit your head with your hands and you continue to hit your head on tables, floors, and walls.
what a round head

Savannah has a tooth
My dear little Savannah is getting so big. You are now 13 months old, and just got your first tooth. You have always been a good eater (even without teeth) but now you will enjoy eating so much more. You love anything that Mommy is eating! Any food that Savannah doesn't like, you will throw off your tray. Any food you do like you will make yummy noises as you eats them. Your most resent discovery is to pain her tray with any baby food that falls onto her tray. And Mr. Micah does whatever his sister does, so you can only imagine how our kitchen looks.
yes that is Micah's hand on Savannah's face, trying to craw over her.
They also like to feed Mommy their finger food.

A huge UPDATE
Babies, I have been so bad at updating YOUR special blog. I really wanted this to be a special blog where I would write cute stories about you both. I wanted to write you both letters and tell you both how much I love you. But I feel all I ever do now is copy and past what I have written on our family blog. Copying posts from our family blog is a good way to document the events that happen in our lives, but it doesn't show my feelings for you or stories from day to day.
So here goes an update as of July 16th, 2011.
Savannah Jeanne Kanooth you are so kind and thoughtful. You love your Mommy & Daddy so much. Whenever Daddy comes home you will reach out your arms for him. After he holds you for a while, you will then reach back for Mommy. You will then stay with Mommy for a while and reach for Daddy again. This little games goes on-and-on until we put you down. Daddy and I have talked about it and think it is your way of saying that you love us both equally.
Savannah you love to cuddle. When you are in a cuddle mood, I place you on my belly. You wrap your feet around my wast and place your head on my chest. And then you stay there and let Mommy rub your back. You love cuddle time at night and when you are tired. Some nights you will cry and we take you into our crib. You will lay in between Daddy and I and take turns cuddling with each of us. You are so cute at sharing your time between parents.
Savannah you are a flirt. You love to look at yourself in the mirror and love to get your hair down. I will place you in front of the mirror as I do your hair and you just smile at yourself. After your hair is in a pig-tail with a bow, you smile so big at your reflection and sometimes giggle. Strangers will notice your cute smile and talk to you. You smile at all strangers and wave your arms. BUT as soon as they try to touch your hands you reach for Mommy. ( I guess that is a good thing)
Savannah you are the cutest eater. You LOVE your yogurt, peas, bread, and puff. But when you are full OR don't want anymore food... you shut your lips, and shake your head no. It is great, because I always know when you are done. You also enjoy playing with food but in a funny way. You dip your fingers in the liquid food and then suck your fingers. You will also pull apart the already small bread into smaller pieces to eat them. And you love love love your Pedisure. Your arms will flare and you will start to bounce every time I bring our the Pedisure bottle.
Savannah you are the boss. I don't know how you do it, but Micah has become your little shadow. You will say some baby talk and then craw into another room, and right behind you comes Micah. If for some reason he doesn't follow you... you will craw back, say more baby talk and wait for him to follow you. You also want every toy that Micah has, and you will normally take his toys from him (although he is now starting to take them back). You therefore have stated to love playing with Micah toy cars. But you play with them so differently. You will put the car to your ear and pretend it is a phone.... and start talking with it on your ear. Micah and you play so well together. I know you love your brother very much.
Savannah you are sweet, sweet, sweet. You love to bring your pink blanket around with you everywhere. You love to talk on Mommy's phone. You love to read books with Mommy and turn every page forwards and backwards. You love your primary music that Mommy plays for you. You say Mommy and Daddy to the right people. You make your parents so happy, and we love you so so much. You are now are sweet Savannah.
Micah Maughan Kanooth you are sweet, sweet, sweet. I love your laugh. I love your smile. I love how you love to be thrown in the air. I love it when you are tired and will cuddle with Mommy. I love how you love your trucks and cars. I love to Micah Maughan.
One of the things I love the most about you is that you can entertain yourself so easily.... all you need is a ball or truck!! You will pick up a ball, throw it, crawl to it, pick it up again, throw it, crawl to it and continue this routine for a whole one hour. You also love your cars and trucks. When you find a truck/car you will stroll it all over the house. You crawl with the truck under one hand, find an empty spot in the room, roll the car back and forth and then crawl to another spot in the room with your truck in rolling right along with you. You are such a boy... we love it!
Micah you have turned into an awesome eater. You will try everything that I give you and if you don't like it... you just throw it off your tray. Recently you have started to eat sun-flower seeds and raisins. And you love to feed yourself! But your most favorite thing is cereal. You will grab a handful of Cheerios and try to eat them out of your hand... by the time I open your little fist the Cheerios are all mushy! You also love to drink out of Mommy's water bottles and cups. And you always get water all over. All-in-all you are a pretty messy eater!
You have the cutest laugh ever. It makes me want to laugh every time I hear it. And you laugh so easil. You are a very happy baby. Things that make you laugh might be; Savannah following you, Mommy dancing, being thrown in the air, looking out the window, going swimming, taking a bath, having a ball thrown at you, and lots more. When you laugh you little teeth stick out and your smile widens. You somehow wrinkle your nose and just look so cute.
Micah, you are sweet, sweet, sweet. You never cry and you never complain. I know if you DO cry that something is really wrong! But onece Mommy picks you up you are all-happy again. Mommy loves to cuddle with you, but you only want to cuddle if you are in a towell or very tired. So I take ever opportunity I can get. You make Mommy and Daddy so happy. You really are an easy baby to raise, because you are such a peacemaker with such an easy going personaliy. We are so thankful that you came into our family. We love you.

You are Florida Babies!!!!!!
Today your daddy officially started his residency at Largo Med. I am now trying to get myself and the two of you on a routine. but the last 2 weeks have felt like a vacation. It has been so nice having Daddy home. Over the last two weeks we have gone to the beach, parks, library, gardens, turtle farm, temple, shopping, biking, beach, beach, and did I mention the beach. It has been fun watching you both going from being scared of the ocean waves to crawling into them. It has been fun spending the evenings with Daddy swimming in our pool and watching movies late into the night. It has been fun taking mini-trip around our peninsula and getting to know the area. It has been fun just being together as a family.
There is this really neat park near our house with fake grass and tons of slides. you both loved playing together sitting on their tuffets.
We all drove to Orlando to visit the temple. We took turns watching the babies outside. It is so nice to have a temple less then 2 hours away. And it was a beautiful temple. Micah you got heat stroke and were from being outside for so long.
One day we went to the botanical gardens & then a turtle farm in Largo. They have 3 different gardens to go into. We then went to this park with tons of turtles. We bought food to feed them. I must say that feeding turtles is way better then feeding ducks. Micah you ate the turtle food and Savannah you loved looking at them eat.
Costco in now our favorite store. They not only have the best samples, but they have the best shopping carts! Micah & Savannah you lobe sitting together up front. You both also love the Largo library with a huge play area for children. In the play area they have a huge kitchen area for the girls. Both of you liked the shopping carts their size.
Mommy sure does love hanging out with you babbies and cuddeling with you. Mommy sure does love the both of you.
Our family loves the beach. I don't need to say anything more.
Micah you are pure boy. you love the water and loves to splash. You also love to be buried in the sand, dig sand, throw sand, & eat sand. You get so excited when he sees the beach. Your arms will start moving and he makes cute nosies. I have a feeling you are going to be my swimmer.
Savannah you didn't like the beach at first. You wouldn't touch the sand and preferred to be under the umbrella. After a couple of visits.... you changed. Now you will crawl right into the water and have the waves cover her. You will eat sea-shells, and loves to lay on the sand. I have a feeling you are going to be a beach bum.
At the end of our two weeks this is what we found. Playing at the beach is hard work.... you two got tired out!!

Moving
You babies got to exsperience your first move along with 24 hour road trip. Daddy and I were really worried about driving with you both for so long.... but you guys did great. Yes, we had to make a lot more stops then normal, but after each stop you guys were fine. When we stopped Mommy would pull out a blanket and place it on the grass. We would let you both craw around, change your diapers, and give you both a snack.
Mommy dove with you in the car and got to hear you both playing with eachother for the whole 24 hours of driving. There was this one time in the car where I heard Micah start to laugh. I looked back and saw Savannah with her blanket over her face. Savannah then pulled the blanket down and made noises. Micah laughed. Savannah put the blanket up again and pulled it down. Micah laughed again. You were playing pic-a-bo with eachother. This is when I became very thankful that I had twins who have learned to entertain eachother.

Then you both got to help Mom and Dad un-pack our things and set up our new home. You both had a very hard ajustment to Florida. I believe you took it harder then both your parents. Both of you became very clingy and cried easily. You both didn't like to be left alone.

1st Birthday
May 26th, 2011 you both turned 1 year old. I can't believe how fast this year has gone. It's crazy to think that you both entered this world weighing less then 4 pounds. Now you are gaining weight everyday, crawling everywhere, eating everything, smiling at everyone, and we love you in every-way!!
Happy Birthday to my two wonderful twins. I am so thankful that I can be your mother. Micah, you are so sweet. I love watching you crawl around the room chasing after balls, and getting so excited when you catch one. You love it when Daddy throws you in the air and wrestles with you. You have the cutest laugh and the cutest smile. Your personality is so patience and kind. You are an easy baby because you are so laid back and chill. You are a wonderful baby and son. We love you so much and wish you a wonderful Birthday.
Savannah, you are mommy's little shadow. You love you mommy and love her cuddles. But you also love your Daddy and love it when he kisses you. You have the sweetest smile. You will smile at complete strangers and giggle when they look back at you. You are a sweet girl but have a spunky side as well. You tease you brother and take his toys, but will cry if he takes it back. You love looking at yourself in the mirror and will hit the mirror with both hands. Sometimes you cry for no reason at all, but stop as soon as you get picked up. You are opinionated, but cute. We love you so much and wish you a wonderful Birthday.
On Monday we celebrated you birthday party. All the family got together and had your party at the church. We had a potato bar, but you both ate only Cheerios and squash. You did eat at the kid table for your first time, and loved eating with the cousins. After your birthday dinner we put you both on a blanket and gave you both one cupcake. Savannah wanted nothing to do with the cupcake and cried the whole time. All Savannah wanted was for Grandma to hold her. Micah loved the frosting but only wanted a couple of bites. He was then board of it and wanted to go back to exploring the gym. Both of you got a lot of presents for your Aunts and Uncles. I think your favorite pressent was from Aunt Becky; she got Savannah a Barbie and Micah a Ken. It was a great evening.

Staying with Grandma and Grandpa Kanooth
As a graduation gift to ourselves Mommy & Daddy went on a week long cruise to the Caribbean. Grandma & Grandpa Kanooth were kind and volunteer to watch you both while we were gone. Sunday the 15th you both flew back to Vancouver with your Grandparents. You then stayed with them for one whole week, while your parents played. We had a great time on the cruise but were missing you both a lot. In fact by Thursday night we were looking at pictures of you on our camera. On Friday we talked about you most the day. On Saturday I was telling complete strangers how excited I was to see you both again. And on Sunday we got to see you.
As soon as we got home, we ran into Grandma's room and saw you both sleeping. I picked up Micah and cuddled with him, then he went back to sleep. I picked up Savannah and she cried. Savannah, you only wanted Daddy, not Mommy. You and Daddy cuddled and then he put you back to bed. You both love you Mommy and Daddy.
Grandma and Grandpa had a great week with you both. They said it was tiring but fun. They said you were both good babies. You were both really good eaters, and sleepers. You played well together and you loved to cuddle. Cousin Lauren came over Saturday and Sunday to help Grandma. Lairen took off 2 days of work to help as well. Aunt Katie and Andrea both came over for one afternoon to help out as well. And they all had a blast playing with you two. Here are some pictures of your time at Grandma's.

Daddy's Graduation Week
May 14, 2011 your Daddy became Dr. Leif P. Kanooth. He has worked 4 hard years and can now be addressed by Doctor. Both of your Grandparents came down for the graduation so you were both "spoiled". I don't think your bottoms ever touched the floor. You are both crawling now, and you loved to crawl all over your grandparents.
While Grandma and Grandpa Maughan were here we visited Kaden's resting spot in Adam-Ondi-Aham. This was the first time we have all been there as a family. It was a sweet feeling being there together as a family. Leif and I planted a flower next to Kaden's rock. We wanted to give him something before we left the state.
Right after Leif planted the flower it started to rain, and showered for a short 2-3 minutes. I believe that this was God's way of acknowledging our flower and giving it some rain to help the roots start growing. I believe that Kaden knew his earthly family was there.
After the flower was planted we took some family pictures by Kaden's resting spot. The pictures taken are now my favorite because it has all 5 of us. I believe Kaden was with us during this picture. I know Kaden is aware of us. I know Kaden will be with our family in the next life. I know he is your older brother and that he loves you both. There was such a peaceful feeling sitting next to his resting spot. I love my 3 children.
While at Kaden's site a very special moment happened. I was holding sweet Savannah and whispered in her ear, "Say... I love Kaden."
In her sweet little voice Savannah said, "I wuve Aven".
I then whispered in her ear, "Say... I love my brother."
He soft baby voice replayed, "I wuve by verer."
She knew she was talking about her big brother. I felt her love for Kaden. I felt the spirit. I felt Kaden's love. I love my 3 children.

Before the big graduation day, you got to play with your Grandparents and do lots of activities. On Tuesday we celebrated yours and my birthday. Grandma brought up a suitcase full of pressents for you both. Each of you got lots and lots of clothes, sunglasses and a suffed bee. On Wednesday we went visit your sweet brother Kaden, and had a great exsperience there. On Thursday you both went to your first petting farm. Micah, you LOVED feeding the baby goats. You got a big smile on your face after touching each animal. You have turned into such a boy, and now love animals, trucks, balls, and trains. Savannah you liked looking at the animal, but not touching. You would get nervious and want to cuddle with Mommy every time an amimal got clost. You are turning into such a girl and now love dolls, blankets, and cuddles. We had a fun day at the farm and ended our day eating dinner. On Friday we all went swimming. Micah you love to swim!! You are so cute when you try to swim. You flap your arms and kick your lets so hard. You get yourself so wet along with whoever is holding you. Whenever you swim all eyes turn towards you. It is the cutest thing ever. Then on Saturday you Daddy become Dr. Daddy Kanooth. I know you are both so proud of him. You both wanted to come to the graduation but no kids were aloud. So we left you with a neighbor and them picked you both up and went out for a graduation dinner. It was a great week. Your grandparents enjoyed spending so much time with you both.

Mother's Day
May 8th, 2011 was Mother's Day. This is the first Mother's Day were I got to celebrate as a Mother. You Daddy was really nice to me and make me homemade breakfast. You both got to eat some of Mommy's pancakes and eggs. Daddy was really sweet to Mommy all day long. He was a big help in the kitchen and with you babies. That evening we have two friends come over and help celebrate Mother's Day with you.
You both had fun playing with your friends as you laid in the grass and watch the adults talk & eat.
Savannah, you must have known it was Mother's Day because you wanted Mommy and hugged me most the day. You have become such a cuddly girl and a Mommy's girl too.
Micah, you and I got some special time today when sister was sleeping. You are such a good boy. You will go to anyone, play with any toy, and you hardly ever cry.
Happy Mother's Day to me. I have the most wonderful children ever.
Savannah crawling up the stairs
Friday May 6th Micah and I were upstairs doing Mommy's make-up. We heard Savannah crying, but knew that she was fine. Savannah, you cry continued to get loader and it also sounded like it was getting closer. After a good 5 minutes I started down the stairs to retrieve you. I didn't have to go very far though. You were kneeling on the third stair with tears rolling down you face. I had no idea that that you could climb stairs. You are now my scooting/climbing girl.
Micah is Crawling
Micah, for the last week you have been rolling/scooting everywhere. You have been watching Savannah army crawl all over the house, and trying over and over to do the same. You will get onto your hands and knees, take one step and then fall on your head and whine. But Tuesday May 5th you started to crawl. You were in the bathtub (with your helmet off) and you just crawled over to the blue rubber ducky. It was only 3 crawling steps but it was all on your own. After we took you out of the bath you continued to crawl all over your bedroom. Daddy and I would clap for you and you smiled so wide. Savannah just sat and watched you crawl. I think she was taking notes this time!!
And from that point on you haven't stop. You LOVE crawling and are so good at it.

How you sleep
Ever since your birth you two have shared a crib (except the NICU). Normally, we put you on opposite sides of the crib and by the morning you are both cuddled together in the middle. Some nights you even change sides and some night we find you holding onto each others hands or arms. Each night Daddy and I go and spy on you both before we go to sleep. We love watching you sleep and laugh at the position you ended in. But last night topped every other night. Micah was WAY to comfortable with his sister. You two really are comfortable together.
Micah loves Monkies
While we were at the Zoo, we visited the orangutans, and one orangutan fell in love with Micah...... Here is the story,
Micah I was holding you up next to the viewing window while the orangutans were swinging close by. Then one orangutan swung over next to us and hit the window right next to your face. Micah, you jumped! The orangutan swung back and with his hand hit the window again. This time you laughed. The orangutan repeated this action and hit the window for a third time, right next to your face. You laughed even louder. The orangutan then held onto two ropes, swung over and kicked the window with both feet. Micah, you were all laughs and smile. Then out of nowhere this orangutan jumped down, walked up to you, placed both hands on the window, and gave you a BIG KISS. It was the cutest thing ever!!!! This orangutan loved you. You were all smile, and the audience was in aah.

Your first road trip
April, 27th 2011 you both went on your first road trip ever. And you both did a great job! You did a great because you both love car-rides and looking out the window. We left for St. Louis around 9:00 in the morning and only had to make one stop. Savannah kept crying and so we pulled over to feed. By 2:00 we made it to St. Louis and stayed with Uncle Scott's sister, Davina. Davina has 2 babies that are both 4 years old. Her children had fun playing with you both, and you both loved the attention.
That night Mommy and Daddy went on a date to the temple and you both were baby-sat by Davina. Then on Saturday morning we woke up to rain. It was kind of a gloomy day, but we didn't let that bother us. We took you to your first ever Easter-Egg hunt. Micah you loved the Easter-Bunny, and Savannah you loved the plastic eggs. You both found one plastic egg and held onto it for the rest of the day.
Micah, you truly loved the Easter-Bunny. In fact you love any animal. So, you had a blast when we went to the St. Louis Zoo. You kicked your little feet and moved your arms around the cages. Savannah you just wanted to cuddle with Mommy, but you loved the giraffes. An orangutan fell in love with Micah and gave him a kiss through the window. We had a blast at the Zoo!
The next day was Easter along with your Daddy's birthday. Mommy helped Savannah find her Easter basket and Daddy helped Micah find his basket. The Easter Bunny gave both of you a new stuffed bunny and he gave us parents candy. You both liked your bunnies, but I think you like the baskets more!! We then dressed you both up in your yellow Easter outfits and went to church. After church we had a nice ham dinner and you did too!!! We ran out of canned baby food, so you both ate smashed up pees and ham. And you loved it. Happy Easter to you.

You are famous babies
The other day we went to the library and you were both so cute that the librarian took your pictures. Then today I found out that you are famous. You are both currently on our library's web page. I feel so honored to have my babies as roll models for reading.

Savannah's new dress
One of the new things Mommy likes to do is be crafty. I have had 3 bow parties in the last couple of months. Then last week I had girls over to make pillow-cae-dresses. Savannah and Ella (our neighbor) ended up with matching dresses. They had fun being twins for the day.
Then on Sunday Savannah ware her pillow-case-dress and mommy wore her pillow-case-skirt. We had a lot of fun being twins!!!
